We are pleased to present our coaches for the 2007 Summer season. All of our coaches have the passion for lacrosse and playing experience to make this a valuable and memorable summer.
Mike Waldron - Coaches Advisor
Mike Waldron returns this summer as our Coaching Advisor for ChicagoLax's Summer Varsity team.
Coach Waldron attended Washington and Lee University where he was a three-year letterwinner. Mike played defenseman for the Generals from 2002 to 2005, which included a defense that ranked seventh nationally in scoring in 2004. Attended Loyola-Blakefield in Townson, MD where his team won the 2001 Maryland State Lacrosse Championship his senior year.
Coach Waldron has coached Varsity Tournament teams the past three summers and is currently a Head Varsity coach at a suburban Chicago High School.
Ryan Hoff - Head Varsity Coach
Ryan Hoff joins the ChicagoLax staff this summer as our head varsity coach. Ryan will be a Junior Attackman at the University of Notre Dame and we are excited to have him as part of the team.
This past season Ryan started all 15 games, leading the team in scoring with 40 goals and adding four assists. Additionally, Coach Hoff had a major impact for the Fighting Irish during his rookie campaign ... played in all 15 games, making 12 starts. He was fourth on the team in goals with 21 and points with 22.
Coach Hoff was a standout in lacrosse and football at Dulaney High School where he earned four letters for lacrosse and three for football. He led his team to state championship his freshman, sophomore, and senior seasons and earned MVP honors in both sports in junior and senior years. He was selected all-conference junior and senior seasons for both football and lacrosse, all-city in both sports as a senior, plus his junior year in lacrosse, selected lacrosse all-state as a junior and was an All-America selection in lacrosse as a junior and a senior. He scored 198 goals and 50 assists in his High School career for lacrosse.
Justin Hess - Assistant Varsity Coach
Justin Hess returns to our program as an assistant coach for the Varsity ChicagoLax team after coaching the JV last summer. Coach Hess is familiar with summer lacrosse programs and the recruiting trail, playing for Coach Waldron for two summers. Justin now plays midfielder for Denison University.
His participation brings our players an immediate understanding of the effort and committment required to translate a successful High School Career into a collegiate opportunity.
Beau Issleib - Assistant Varsity Coach
Beau Issleib joins the ChicagoLax staff this summer as an assistant varsity coach. Beau is a LSM at Drexel University and has played for Coach Waldron for two summers. His experiences as a local player who was successfully recruited to play at the collegiate level make him a great addition to our staff.
Coach Issleib was a three-time All-Conference pick in high school and was named All-American as a senior.
